Did You Know?
In addition to the retreats and programs offered by our Spiritual Growth staff, the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth welcomes Catholic and other ecumenical groups who are looking for a beautiful setting to conduct their own group meetings.
Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding
and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace,
That is enough for me.

Grief and Grace: A Lenten Journey with Christine Eberle
The Season of Lent begins with a stirring invitation from the prophet Joel: “Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the Lord your God.” But what does that mean for those whose hearts are already torn open by the loss of a loved one? How do we draw close to God again? This four-week series will adapt for the grieving soul the traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, using conversation, poetry, and ritual to guide participants along a path of deepening trust.
The series will be offered on two tracks: afternoon and evening, with each group meeting once a week for four weeks: from 1:30-3 PM OR from 7-8:30 PM. Light refreshments will be available. Lunch before the afternoon session or dinner before the second session is an option for folks who call ahead and pay for the meal.
Cost: $100 for the series of four weeks ($50 non-refundable deposit)
Christine Eberle is the author of Finding God in Ordinary Time, a collection of daily meditations based on true stories (Green Writers Press, September 2018). Currently the Director of Campus Ministry at Gwynedd Mercy University, Christine has spent the last 25 years in campus ministry asking her favorite question — Where is God in all this? —and listening for answers in surprising places.
Beyond the campus, Christine performs dramatic monologues of women in Scripture, offers talks and retreats, and cantors for her parish. She is a passionate explorer of the connections between Scripture, spirituality, and everyday life.
