In a letter dated 29 May 2020, the Provincial of the former Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus announced his decision to close the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth, effective August 2021. You may read the Provincial’s letter, accompanying FAQs, and Br. Derby’s letter of response here.
While we are sorrowful at the decision, we are focused on the remaining time of ministry here in Wernersville. The Jesuit Center will continue to offer retreats and other programs for spiritual renewal, and to host groups, through August 2021. You can see our 2021 program calendar here.
As the Magi once followed a star which brought them to the Christ Child, our paths are illumined by the “Creator of the Stars, the God of Epiphanies,” in Macrina Wiederkehr’s lovely phrase.
Epiphany offers us a time to reflect on our own journey: our experiences of searching, finding, and gifting, and on the times we have needed to follow a different path home.
The same program will be offered in two different formats on different days (choose the option best suited for you):
IN-PERSON (registration strictly limited to 25 people) on Wednesday, January 6, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Participants are asked to arrive between 8:30 and 9:30 AM for check-in, including a health screening. The program will begin at 9:30 AM and will include input from Linda, opportunities for quiet prayer and reflection, Mass, and lunch. The program will conclude at 3:30 PM. Cost: $50 ($25 non-refundable deposit)
VIRTUAL (registration open) over two evenings, Tuesday, January 5 and Thursday, January 7, from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, via Zoom. The program will include input from Linda, as well as opportunities for quiet prayer, reflection, and grace-sharing. Cost: $50 ($25 non-refundable deposit)
After you register, you'll be instructed to make your deposit and/or pay your final cost.
