Did You Know?
In addition to the retreats and programs offered by our Spiritual Growth staff, the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth welcomes Catholic and other ecumenical groups who are looking for a beautiful setting to conduct their own group meetings.
Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding
and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace,
That is enough for me.
—St. Ignatius of Loyola
Sept 22, 2017 “The Spirit in My Heart”: A Day of Reflection for Diocesan Priest Spiritual Directors – Susan Baker & Frank Kaminski, SJ
“But with a spiritual director, I have to talk about what is in my heart. The examination of conscience isn’t the same for confession and for spiritual direction. For confession, I have to look at where I was lacking, where I lost patience, if I was greedy — that kind of thing, those concrete things that are sinful… But in spiritual direction, I must examine what is happening in my heart, where the Spirit is moving, if I felt desolation or consolation, if I am tired, why I am sad: These are things to talk about with the man or woman who is my spiritual director.” - Pope Francis, May 18, 2015
Ignatian spirituality is based on discernment of spirits and the communal life of the Church; only in assisting and supporting one another can we truly understand the movements of God’s Spirit. This day for diocesan priests who are spiritual directors will provide input and discussion focusing on the importance of spiritual direction, supervision and discernment, and will also include liturgy, time for personal prayer and lunch. (Click to print and share our event flyer.)
Program begins: 10:30 AM | Departure: 3:30 PM | Deposit: $25 | Cost: $50 ($85 if arriving Thursday & staying overnight)
After you register, you'll be instructed to make your deposit and/or pay your final cost.
Frank Kaminski, SJ
“Seen in this light, prayer is time taken out of the linear journey of our days, and it is also our most profound reality. When we pray, we move inward to our God center.”
– Margaret Silf, Inner Compass
Take a little time out of your linear journey! Spend a half-day or a full day of quiet reflection at the Jesuit Center with input from staff members and/or outside presenters. Each program will include time for quiet prayer, Mass, and a meal (or meals).
